Being Gay makes me happy. The Declaration of Independence says that I'm endowed by my creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Being gay makes me happy so I pursue it. I'm just being patriotic.

That really depends on what about the GLBT community is being argued.
If it's marriage rights, then I point out that 1) this is a nation of secular laws, not religious theocracy. 2) Continued denial of access only puts ALL our families at risk.
If it's GLBT adoption I try to point out that 1) Homosexuals are rarely child molesters and that more often than not it's Married, Heterosexual men who are pedophiles. 2) A child needs love, honesty and a family who can provide those things. Even in straight families there isn't always a father or mother role model, but most families do have some sort of gender appropriate role models in the way of extended family and adult friends.
If it's Employment protection: I point out that sexuality and sex are simply inappropriate in all places of employment, but that an employee should not have to feel threatened simply because someone may perceive an employees sexuality. How an employee does his/her job is all that should matter.

Ignore it usually. If it is a religious argument I like to ask which of the 10 commandments covers being gay.

you're not the creator you're a hater, so judge and be judged.
BTW, i am not gay and i am a christian, but i do sin like everyone else, so i do not pass my judgment on anyone, not even if they are hateful toward me. i try only to give my opinion when ask it. as a christian Gods love should shine through my actions and rub off on everyone else. i hope that helps

A quick "leopard paw" blow to the throat usually gets their attention. Then a couple of side kicks to the ribs will help them see reason. If, after this civil discourse, they are unrepentent, I pee on their unconcious body.
