Parents don't want to see their children ever get hurt, physically or emotionally. They would do anything to prevent it. Girls are considered "more fragile" in many ways and more vulnerable than boys because they are the "gentler" sex. Parents tend to pamper girls more.
PS. Print off a copy of this question and put it away for 20 years. You will find the question funny after you have teenagers of your own.

1. Girls are the ones who can get pregnant which is obvious that she's been doing the deed than if a boy fathers a child.
2. Girls do not have a clear understanding of how guys operate and, since they tend to be more emotional, they fall for the guys sweet talk.
3. Girls tend to follow their emotions rather than their brains.
4. Girls are far more likely than boys to be raped.
5. Parents don't want the child to make mistakes, so they try to protect them for doing so.
6. Parents are afraid of what could happen to their child (accident, kidnapping, attack, etc.) so they overcompensate for their fears by becoming ultra protective.
7. Parents think if they shelter and protect their child, he or she will never come to any harm or heartache (which is stupid).
8. Parents don't know how to be good parents and so they hide behind the guise of being protective in hopes that it will make them look like good parents.
9. Parents are control freaks who cannot stand for anyone to be beyond their power and authority, so they become overbearing.
10. And lastly, because they can! LOL.

Its called "love". Your parents have already seen both how good and bad life can be. They want the best for you, and also to help you avoid grief. They know they won't be totally successful because you are a human being with a free will, and that there are some things you will just have to find out for yourself. They were your age once. They had the same thoughts and feelings you do now.

because being a girl in this world is a wrong thing and girls are aimed to many bad things also .....
once you become a parent of a daughter you shall understand ... it is not all that easy.. and protectiveness is a sign of love..

Because we are weak in the whole guys area... parents are just worried that you are going to get hurt by some loser...

Because girls get taken advantage of easier and they can get pregnant. They just don't want to see you get hurt. Mine were the same way.

i wish i knew... i'm 20 years old and my parents are very over protected... sometimes it makes me sooo miserable... i can't stand it.. they think they are helping me..
