With all the good news from Iraq, are the democrats trying to subvert American victory? Is trashing Turkey for something that happened 100 years ago worth it if it destablizes Iraq?

It's worth it if it makes them win the elections.

Democrats don't care about America, all they care about is power.

I don't think you quite understand what's happening with Turkey. The Dems are actually trying to help President Bush- they're acting at the direct request of the State Department. The President would prefer that Turkey didn't invade Southern Iraq, because it's one of his supposedly "stable" regions, but the Kurds are hiding there while they take pot shots at Turkey.

The measure being kicked around congress right now is one that we pull out about every 30 years or so, as a diplomatic means of keeping Turkey in line. I don't think it's going to work this time though.

I don't believe you have any evidence to support your assertions. My dad voted for Bush for one and he is against the war in Iraq. He has been against it from the beginning.
There is no positive evidence coming from Iraq. We need political victory and that isn't going to happen because there isn't an incentive or demands. If Turkey attacks the Kurds then it is Turkey's fault. They aren't even a true ally of the U.S. They don't like us. I don't blame them right now because we are too selfish.
We can't deny history and the right thing to do is to recognize it. Although I don't think the U.S. has any grounds for moralizing given what we have been doing for the past few years. It's disgusting and against our values. We have to fight terrorists but what we have been doing is totally wrong. It has made us less safe. There hasn't been an attack on the US. but that doesn't mean that what we are doing is actually working. We need to be smarter and think ahead. We can absolutely do it. It seems we are acting on emotion rather than logic and that's a dangerous strategy. We need to impeach and imprison Cheney because he's the man behind all of this. He's the real evil person here. I'm sick of the majority of baby boomers that are so selfish and ruining the U.S. This war is going to take this country into serious debt that generations to come will have to pay for. That is wrong! It's happened since the Civil War. We must stop it! Please vote for Dennis Kucinich. He is the man that can lead us back to days of prosperity.

Liberal morons will, of course, blame Bush.
Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence know who is to blame for creating a rift with Turkey and encouraging them to disregard our input on the matter.
Way to go, Congress. You really have the right stuff!
Never before have such a band of idiots disgraced the halls of the capitol. Approval ratings show it.

Oh, by the way, idiots... the war was won in Iraq quickly.
It's the stabilization that has gone slowly. A lot of positive things are happening there right now but the media, that has a definite agenda, isn't reporting it.
They'd prefer you remain uninformed.
Sahara's statement below is great evidence of that.

We are so party polarized here in American the Democrats will blame Bush for anything bad and vice versa. The Turkish issue has been magnified by the Democrats condemning Turkey for genocide on events from 1919. Real smart wouldn't you say?????? Politically maybe!!! For the country it is or could be a disaster.

Yup because if Turkey attacks Kurds in Iraq it would mean Bush is pro-terror all day long. The Kurdish terrorist are friends of ours. We support them! They not only attack Turkey but they also attack Iran.

In regards to the the Armenian genocide how DARE YOU!!!! This was a genocide committed by the Turkish government and it still does not hold responsibility to it today. I bet your tone would be a whole lot different if it was a WW2 Holocaust bill wouldn't it? Exactly! Keep your hate filled biases to yourself.

Right now Turkey is out ally. Nancy Pelosi wants to ruin that. She'll cut off any future supply lines we might have had in the event we had to Invade Iran.

But, yeah, they'll blame him since they have no other valid reasons to do so otherwise.

Alot of republicans voted for it, heres the list, so whats your point?
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?...

The most famous Turkish citizen Orhan Pamuk, (nobel peace prize winner) just stated that the US should recognize the Armenian Genocide and Turkey has no freedom of speech. He was jailed by Turkey for his opinions.

http://www.panorama.am/en/society/2007/1...

The Armenian genocide is the "death of 1.5 million Christians killed by Muslims in a Jihad"

Did you know Freedom of Speech is outlawed in Turkey? Did you know Turkey is still doing honor killings?

Why does the United States support a country that does that? Just because of misle bases?

Did you knows that the resolution has been coming up for the past 25 years and everytime it has come up the US government says "this is not the right time" just like they are now. During Clintons presidency the same thing was being said that is being said now and there was no war.
So when will it be the right time? Never is the right answer.

Armenian-Americans have been trying for the past 25 years for the US to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Its recognized in countless other countries like Canada, Italy, Greece, France, Poland, etc.

You said it happened 90 years after the fact, did you know alot of the survivors of that genocide are still alive? They were children when the Turks raped their mothers and fathers, chopped their aunts and uncles into pieces, hung their brothers and sisters on crosses and then burned them alive. Leaving the survivors as orphans who alot wound up in orphanges in America in 1915.
Their still alive, don't you think the USA should recognize what happened to them while their still alive?

Did you know Turkey never admitted they did the genocide, they lie and say it never happened, Turks claim Both Armenians and Greeks comitted a Genocide to them in 1915, they hold rallies in streets of America including outside the White House stating this. You can see the videos and photos Here:
http://www.theforgotten.org/denial

http://www.theforgotten.org/denial2005/
Did you know its against the law in turkey for anyone to say the Armenian Genoicde happened. Its Penal Code 301 in Turkey. The punishment is jail. Famous journalist Hrant DInk was sent to jail for saying the Armenian Genocide happened then he was killed, his son has to serve 1 year in jail for saying the Armenian Genocide happened/

In turkey their history books are re-written stating the Armenian Genocide never happened. The country is teaching their people lies which is causing a dangerous situation..

Should the USA deny the Sept 11 attacks happened because Osama Bin Laden makes a good ally?

Don't you think its ironic the USA is allies with a country Turkey who is Muslim and comitted a JIHAD (genocide) to Christians -the Armenians who deny it ever even happened?

If your grandfather was alive and told you how his father was hung on a cross burned alive, his mother was raped and killed, his uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters were all raped, chopped into pieces, tortured in front of him by muslims you want the people who did it to at least say sorry, right? Not re-write history books and say your grandfathers family killed and raped them?

My Grandfather is 95 years old, all he wants in life is to see the USA recognize this before he dies. Hes lived in this country since he was a littly boy. He payed his taxes, is a successful business man who is a good American citizen

So the truth of genocide doesn't matter to you?

Who were the REPUBLICAN co-sponsors of this Bill?
AHH - didn't mention that did you - so will the republican supporters of this bill blame Dubbya too?

What good news - turn off FAUX and try to think for yourself!

People who make these statements are poster children for a new draft - that will provide a first hand sense of reality regarding how "good" the war is going!

If the warrior race of the BetaZed system attacked the peaceful inhabitants of Sigma4 the Democrats would blame Bush.

I had a heart attack a year ago, some Democrat Senator called me and told me it was Bush's fault.
