At my school Cardinal O'Hara High School we are interested in putting on a school musical without using the Niagra Regional Guild that has been provided within our school. One major problem is budget. And the main budget problem is a copyrighted or theatre royalty to put on the production.

What I am insterested in and what my main question is, what wedsite can I go to to give myself a list of the cheap / expensive, whatever range of price, theatre royalties.

I attempted google, however it did not work.

Great Thanks.

There are books of royalty free plays. The stories of the Grimm brothers, Hans Christian Andersen and some others are also royalty free, but you need to have your schools committee double check on everything before you go down that road. Plays written from their works may not be covered. For your internet search try key words like royalty free, play, script, etc.

the forums can be helpful too

Yes, I learnt to play the recorder in the juniors and the E flat bass in the Comp. My parents supported me wholeheartedly, even when they saw their 13 year old daughter (without warning) bring a tuba (the bass) home. Some parents would have told me to take it straight back, they bought me all the accessories I wanted. they bought me every recorder there is (except the bass) and I still have them. I love my tenor ..... Oh, thank you. I've just had a lovely half an hour playing them all. I played a Beethoven sonata on them first and then went through a hymn book I've got and THEN. I found the plug for my old Brother word processor, I was about to throw the typewriter out because I thought I'd lost the power lead ... I can get into some of my old disks again now. Right, you magical person you, can you summon up a Sharp fontwriter so I can get into the rest of the pre-computer disk? Back to your question ... although the bass was my instrument of choice, the head of music at school would invariably have me playing everything from the tenor horn upwards (in the orchestra, he had me playing my melodica too) but in the town massed school band, it was always the bass I played. Oh and I was in the school choir too ..... no-one moved around more than I did at school concerts, I was forever dashing from the band to the orchestra and then I'd join the choir and back to the band. I still have a programme from those happy days and I think I made 13 jumps (I had a tuba solo in that concert too).

Contact: Samuel French.com
or Bakers.

They should be able to give you information.

Both are publishers of plays.
