Your are paying for a name. And for some reason people think that if it cost more it must be better. And as long as there is stupid people to pay those prices they will stay high.

If we're being extremely generous, we might say that the $350 jeans are better made but we both know that's pretty unlikely. I think you nailed it in your question. Basically, if someone will pay more, a company will charge more. They're doing it because they have a recognizable label, because people lack self confidence and assume that higher cost means cooler product to own. Sad really. I just got a great beige cashmere zip-up hoodie that I get tons of complements on for $30. I got at Courage My Love in T.O. and it's second hand, although you'd never be able to tell looking at it. I'll be Abercrombie will have a sale and those baby's will be reduced by 80%. :)

People are willing to pay that much for jeans so thats how much Abercrombie is going to sell them for....Its ridiculous yes I know but thats just the world we live in today....Id much rather go to American Eagle, JCPenny or Some where else & pay $30 for pants with no holes in them. But thats just me :)

people think a label is a status symbol! luckily most outgrow this childish thinking and realize that there are so many more important things than status. I've often heard the expression that the rich are stupid (perfect example Brittany) Spending their money on labels is the way that they feel better about themselves....luckily a few of us already know that a label isn't what makes us a good person...the inside of a person makes us who we are

They are that expensive because people will pay the price. It is supply and demand. If people wouldn't pay that much for the product the company would either lower the prices or lose money and maybe go out of business.

Abercrombie is expensive because the the little sophomore high school girls that shop there don't pay for it, their daddy's credit card does. Once the get into the real world maybe they'll buy some Levi's like you and I do.

It's all about BRAND NAMES. Sadly...

Like Hollister sells a freaking polo shirt for $30 that you can get at Walmart for $9. The only difference is the little bird on the right side of their polo, because it's the Hollister brand. Gay, I know.

That's the thing, people are brainwashed into buying expensive clothes, with labels that shout 'I'm trendy". The reality is, it all wears out and lands in a trsh can.
