I would recommend that you be slicker than just coming out and asking. Guys being guys will assume that if you asked him out you are an easy nail. If they think you are easy you are not a keeper; you are a catch and release.
In other cases some guys might be ok with it but why take the risk when there are other methods more effective and make you look less needy. The guys who are ok with girls asking are usually the shy ones who need to grow a pair and get out there.
Ok if he didn't getit and you still are interested, I would approach the guy is conversation and ask if he has a girlfriend. That is the universal indicator that you are interested. Try that first, and you can be the one to strike up a conversation to make it easy for him. If he is dense and can’t get this hint he is a tard.
I would not ask him on an official date but ask him out in a friendly manor. Maybe have a couple friends with you. For example say…my girlfriend is going out with her boyfriend and she wants me to go but no one has asked me….hint hint wink wink. If he still doesn’t get it then he is a rock and you need to find a smarter date.
Oh if you don’t have a girlfriend with a boyfriend , they can mysteriously cancel and it will be just the two of you.
if you ask and he says he has girlfriend say in a joking manor 'well shes not invited'. that would be the joke to get out.

Find out if he has a girlfriend first of all and if he does, don't even go there. I would try to get to know him a little bit before asking him out, otherwise he might think you're a little too forward if the first thing you do is ask him out. But I don't see any problem at all with a girl asking out a guy. It makes things a little more interesting.

I've asked out guys before, sometimes guys wont ask a girl out because they don't think they have a chance. So asking him makes him feel more confident. If he has a GF, hopefully he'll be mature enough to nicely tell you, or even tell you at all. Good luck

Tell dude in question that your "friend" is interested in them, then laugh and casually ask if they have a gf. It they say yes, laugh and say "oh well, too bad for her" if he says no, then admit you were asking for yourself and you'd really like to get to know him better, exchange phone numbers

Ask anyway that way you'll feel better for asking even if he does have a girlfriend, just roll with it and be like mellow about it even if your heart is breaking, when you get home after asking just get drunk and go to the club and relax.
And if he doesn't have a girlfriend and wants to hang out with you go to the club and celebrate anyway.

Fine by me, except if he has a gf. It's never good for anyone to ask out someone who is already dating someone else.

If he has a girlfriend then don't ask him. But it's cool if a girl can go up to a guy and ask him out.

well, its worth a try...
There is nothing to be "afraid" about. If he has a gf, then its ok. Just move on. I mean, it is not wrong to try "in the good way as long as one does no sin".
I mean,
" Dare to love & you may fail; But dont dare to love & you have failed already ".
