Why hasn't EVP been proven?

A lady who put together www.1800heaven.com Has posted alot of her recordings on her site. If they ARE in fact genuine and not tampered with, than why hasn't EVP been credited? Or at least, why hasn't a group of scientists or something come together to test EVP and explain how this woman is getting all of these voices.

What proof is there that these are voices from ghosts, spirits, or whatever and not some electronic feedback or interference from an outside source? Just because you hear a sound that you believe is a voice does not mean that it is a voice.

Why, if you have multiple recording devices recording at once, do you not get the same sounds and "messages" on all machines at the same time?

If you truly feel that you can prove that EVP exists, then do an experiment. Take all of your data and present it to scientists in the form of a paper. Let the peer review happen. If the scientists agree with your methods and conclusions then EVP will be on its way to recognized by science.

The site *does* credit EVP for the tapes.

It's easy to create a voice on a tape. How would you propose proving that it came from a spook, though?

Somehow, this reminds me of the question that therapists ask people: do you ever hear voices, and not know where they come from?

The proper answer should be "yes, especially after I hear the phone ringing, and I answer it."

The word phenomena kind of explains it. Most phenomena aren't proven.

It's also something that most scientists don't/won't believe and the recordings are FAR too easy to play with. Any dope with $50 can buy some recording software and apply effects to it.

How do you propose to prove it? It is not like we can co-ordinate with a dead guy or anything.
