foreign policies? Do you think its because no country has really ever had the power of the USA and tried to just live in peace, and from such, there really is no definite "good" path to take, so in essence, they are taking the good path in foreign policy, or is it something else?

ahhh, first respondant, also actually attacking the argument instead of the person goes a long way. Sorry, but your answer is invalid as in you didn't answer the question or rebut the question's initial basis. Instead, you attacked me. Try rebutting the argument next time instead of making baseless statements

It's easy for us to criticise the foreign policies of the President, we're not the ones on the hot seat actually making these decisions, knowing that whatever decisions we make that at least half the people will say we're wrong. If he negotiates, they call him weak, if he takes a hard stance, they call him reckless. I would hope that our leaders would base their foreign policy on what they believe is best for the nation, not their own popularity.

its hard to like a foreign policy which is so self serving which in turn is self defeating.

just look at pinochet, look at saddams suppport during the 80s,israel and ofcourse afghanistan in the 80s,its shows complete arrogance and most of these have have come back to haunt.

somehow theyve managed to top these recently and the current policies are going to haunt not just the u.s. but the world for a very long time.

i do no longer think of G W Bush is a powerful president. despite the fact that I do think of that he has been compelled to handle numerous issues that maximum presidents have not had to handle. i do no longer think of that he has dealt with numerous subject concerns authentic, i think of that he has did no longer authentic clarify his efforts to the american people thereby dividing the country. Jimmy Carter despite the fact that become some distance worse than President Bush. President Carter in basic terms did no longer something in any respect, he become susceptible, he made terrible judgements that had repercussions that we nevertheless are feeling at present. He basically secured the US's want for distant places oil by ability of outlawing numerous categories of power courses which contain the great-collider and nuclear ability. He did so because of the fact he listened to grease corporation lobbyists. while in workplace he fairly did precisely what people accuse President Bush of in that he positioned the pastimes of huge business enterprise over the pastimes of the US. His courting and help for the Shah of Iran become between the top aspects interior the Iranian revolution and the middle Easts mistrust and hatred of the West. we are below attack from Islamic terror because of the fact of individuals like Jimmy Carter, President Bush inspite of the very shown fact that a unfavorable president is in basic terms attempting to freshen up a multitude created by ability of different individuals.

It's the inability of people like you to fully comprehend something as complicated as "foreign policy". Your opinion is noted and promptly laughed at. BTW - it's not "...some of the worse..." you should use "worst". Grammar goes a long way to credibility.
IN RESPONSE: The problem is in the quetion, one would have to assume the USA to have poor foreign relations, I don't, therefore it the question that is invalid.

You know everyone has always complained about US foreign policy. You make Asia happy, Central America gets mad. You make CA happy Europe gets mad. On and on and on.

"You can't please everyone so you've just got to please yourself."

The best foreign policy is to do what serves us and makes us happy. Unfortunately, we cant be happy with that.
