click on start, run. type in msconfig. Click on the start up tab and uncheck the boxes for the AOL programs.

My husband works in IT and says that AOL is like a virus on computers. It attacks the computer installing itself into every part of it. He says it is very difficult to remove and that people have no idea that it does that and should find a proper internet provider.

If you don't use it just uninstall it.

You won't have to mess around with the msconfig that way..

It's in the control panel > Add remove programs > highlight AOL and then remove .
When you remove it, it won't start up..

if u cant find an option for it first within the program options itself.. then do this... start->run type msconfig choose the startup tab.. look for the AOL process and uncheck it.. then restart and it will be gone

Yes. Go to 'Start' then 'Run' then type in msconfig and hit 'Enter.' You can then deselect AOL from your startup programs and it won't do that anymore!
