i'm on a wedding dress hunt over the net for a friend, definitely not strapless....what should i be looking for?
pictures would be great!
thanks!

by the way, in case anyone is wondering, we can't simply go out and try on dresses....to get to the nearest wedding dress(or anything even resembling a wedding dress) we'd have to get on a plane...

Get a picture ofyour friends head. Look at the pictures you see on the net and place her face above the dress. Choose the one you think compliments her. Don't worry about her size as no one who is going to the wedding will as they know her and you want one that I stated would compliment her.

I think an empire style waistline is the most attractive. It doesn't fit at the waist, but under the bust. Do not get anything that is to full, more of an a-line style. Go to some sites on the internet for plus sizes in wedding attire, they should be able to show you something.

first congrats to her

Strappless is NOT offlimits to a plus sized woman! so long as the dress fits her at the top and doesnt cause hang over, it can be very very attractive.

Here is a strappless that has targets at the waist a little different color from the rest of the dress, it will make the bride look thinner.

because she is short and plus sized, i would say Strappless, high cut, long, not to many ruffles in the gown or on the bodice. Make it simple and elegant like the one i showed you. This will give a slimming effect, also because its strappless, and long, it will help elongate her body. Also try to bring something into her waist like the one shown, that will secton off her boosm, from her hips, that will again help elongate her body.

hi,
congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
go to www.davidsbridal.com click on the womens dresses. i would go with something in the style of these gowns:
9T8076, 9V9322, 9T8763, by looking at these you can get a good idea. i would try to avoid a style like 9T9017. if you're wide on bottom (like me) it would accentuate that area and make you look more petite.(shorter)

for a petitoe plus size, you need a dress that doesn't have a lot of ruffles or rouching, because that will just add more volume. definately go with something simple. hope that helps! <3

I'd suggest something simple and classic, such as wider tank-style straps, a V neckline, and a simple, straight (vs. poofy) skirt.
