There is a method called "The Rhythm Method"
To learn more about it go here:http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_health/contraception/contraception_rhythm.html

This method has a very large margin for error, and should not be considered reliable. In the Health care field we have a little joke...and it goes like this...What do you call a woman who uses the Rhythm Method?
Answer: You call her Mom!

The best form of birth control is abstinence. That is not to say you can't have fun...just don't have actual intercourse.

There are days that are safer to have sex and avoid pregnancy, ( Safer as to say that pregnancy is less likely to occur, but please...Make no mistake...It is possible to become pregnant at ANYTIME!)
I'd also like to point out that pregnancy is the best result that can come from unprotected sex...You must take precautions to protect yourself from STD's.
Using a Condom is one of the most successful ways to avoid STD's, second only to abstinence.
My best advice is this....Unless you are willing to assume and accept the responsibility that you may become pregnant, and/or contract an STD every time you have sex....You should not be having sexual intercourse.

Unless you know exactly when you are ovulating, each and every month---and you don't always ovulate on the same day every month!---there is really no "safe" day. Your body wants to get pregnant, whether your brain does or not.

In fact, this question is probably a good example of your body trying to convince your brain that you can have consequence-free unprotected sex, right around the time your body is plotting to release an extra egg to trap you.

Hi Hun, unfortunately there's no rule of thumb for this. Anytime you have unprotected sex you may get pregnant, this is because even if you don't have sex when you are ovulating , sperm can live inside your uterus up to a week, which by then you could be ovulating and get pg. It's not only unrecommended but stupid to have sex without protection, not only because you could get pg but because you could get a STD from the guy, or even Aids, just spend cash and buy a condom to be worry free! Think wise.

There is no absolute date when you are safe to not get pregnant without contraception.

You have to know your cycle. If you don't have sex around the time of ovulation (remember that sperm can survive inside of you for several days prior to ovulation), then its less likely to get pregnant. Its called Natural Family Planning. Also widely used as a way to successfully get pregnant.

There are NO SAFE DAYS! Don't care who told you there are....people who believe this are called "PARENTS"!
The only way to not get pregnant is to either use a reliable form of contraceptive--but even that isn't entirely foolproof...best bet is to just not have sex!

Time to return to Sex Ed. You can get pregnant at any time during your cycle, even during your period. You should ALWAYS use some sort of protection. And don't forget, there's more than just pregnancy to worry about. There are also diseases. Use a condom!

there is never a 100 percent free day from pregnancy when not using birth control. nor is there a perfect day to have unprotected sex and be safe from std's. not even birth control pills are 100% effective so how could there be any other way?

All the days before puberty and after menopause.

Ok but seriously if you want to use the "periodic abstinence" methods of birth control there are many ways of determining which days have a low risk of pregnancy (but not 0 risk).

Fertility Awareness is usually more accurate:

And Rhythm Method:

There are no "safe" days. Not every woman ovulates on the same schedule.
