i agree with what was said about youth but then how does one explain Eddie Lewis being on this team ?

To me it would mean that we have lost 6 in a row. It would mean that we are incapable of beating any team in the top 20 other than Mexico. It would mean we are not making ANY REAL progress.

You are right, it would mean we are going nowhere, the coach should be fired and the whole system thrown out. Until the MLS came along the US couldn;t find talent if it walked in the door.

No, not in the slightest.

When you have a look at the roster you'll notice that the majority of the roster is age 23 or younger. There is a decent amount of talented "veterans" but Bradley is obviously using a youth movement as indicated by the inclusion of Adu, Edu, Zimmerman, Zizzo, etc.

A loss will be acceptable, provided that the teams shows promise. If every youngerster is getting burnt/losing the ball then it'll definetely be a let down but it'll still be a positive learning experience.

I'm actually very happy about the roster. It's only a friendly and it shows that Bradley isn't solely focused on winning right now but also on finding a combination of players who work well together and will have a long future on our national team (think to the next World Cup).

At this point, the club has struggled so badly - losing five straight after a 10-0-1 start under coach Bradley & 0-3-3 overall versus Switzerland - that a victory seems remote. The team lacks leadership and an identity & is on a path to be as pathetic as the early 1970s squads.

switzerland has a very good team, and most of its starting players play for great teams like Arsenal throughout europe... a loss from switzerland surely would not be unrealistic also because the US is playing in Switzerland, an away match is always more difficult ! the US has a very good team too capable of winning big matches. You need to also remember this is a friendly match, so expect both teams to be trying new tactics, new players so it will certainly not be as strong as a world cup qualifier match.

No, not really. USA has always had a tough time winning in Europe. Of course I think they should win or draw this game, but the Swiss aren't a terrible team by any means, and a loss to them in a friendly on their field wouldn't be the end of the world.

Nope....

USA rarely plays friendlies outside of their home.
This will be a good test for them in Europe against a nice young Swiss side.

I believe this game could end in a draw.
