You build your dream house you settle in and life is beautiful but because of a change in law the property is taken from you and you cannot do anything. You are allowed to live in the shed at the end of the yard, what would you do? Would you fight for your land and property or just back down and let the new owners do what they want?

A change in a law should make no difference...existing properties should be "grandfathered" in...meaning...they are allowed to remain zoned for the purpose they are now being used for...but must comply to new zoning ONLY when sold or otherwise vacated by the owner who owned and occupied the property prior to the change in the law. I would FIGHT "tooth-and-nail" to remain on my property...laws cannot be changed at the "whim" of others...

I'd at least talk to a lawyer. Did they take the land so they build some business structures? Because they did pass that law that your land can be seized for business ventures but it can be fought and won.

If "if's" and "but's" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.
