I live out in the northeast region of U.S and winters can be quite cold. As a new cross dresser, I love wearing skirts and dresses. During the winter time, should I just give up wearing skirts and dresses or are there any type of hosiery that will keep me warm.

I love in Canada, not far from Toronto, and I know all about dressing feminine yet staying warm. Tights are only part of the equation, don't forget that lined and unlined wool skirts are nice and toasty warm in the winter; in fact a wool skirt and matching tights is far warmer in the winter than plain old jeans or pants. Pair with a swingy longer length wool coat and you can look super-girly even in the coldest weather. There are so many wool skirts out there, from short flirty minis to long and full skirts, there's no reason to give up skirts in the winter.

Hi I wore skirts when I lived in the mid-west. Just pick a longer style and there are heavier stocking (tights) at the stores in the cooler months. Investing in a nice wool coat and some boots will also work well with skirts. Good luck

We live in the mid west and my wife prefers me in short skirts year round, but does allow for heavier tights in the winter. Most of the time, i simply deal with the cold, since i am not actually outside all that long. If it is really cold, a heavier, longer skirt, knee high lined boots, and heavy tights keep me warm.

Good luck, keep looking femme!!

Be sure to wear a skirt with a lining if possible. Wear 40 denier tights. If you do this and invest in (fake) fur-lined knee-high boots to wear with your skirts and a good knee mid-thigh length coat you will be absolutely fine. And wooly knickers too! - no I'm just joking the above should be fine, and you will look very chic

If you want to wear a skirt during the winter, you could wear leggings underneath it.
