I've been at Yahoo Q & A for over a year. Believe me there is nothing so stupid or ridiculous that people won't believe it. I read the other day that someone claimed that the Boy Scouts are responsible for 9/1/1! After the Holocaust no Nazi claimed that it didn't happen. It was always "I was only following orders". This guy, Ahmadinejad, is hardly an objective source. Besides photographs there are still people around who were victims and people who liberated the death camps. You might as well deny gravity.

It is a populist tactic to pander to the religious extremists in his country. It is just another dog and pony show of politics to distract his populace from any real issues, their economy or the revoking of many freedoms in the past few years.

He's too clever to say it didn't happen. He does say, however, that not that many Jews were killed, and he emphasizes that other ethnic groups and religions, such as Polish Catholics and Gypsies, were also slaughtered.

His point is to de-legitimize the statehood of Israel which was founded in reaction to the murder of 6 million European Jews.
