I know Feb. 14th is far from now but I have a boyfriend and found this cute heart necklace that he could give me since we will probably switch gifts. I intend on giving him some money to pay for it (it's like 20 dollars plus tax.) Is it wrong for me to give him the money to buy me th gift.

Or I want a Dereon dress with some baby phat shoes:

(i'd give him the money for that too.)

Is it wrong for me to give him money to pay for my own gift(s)?

I meant give him the money just to help him out with the expenses. I really dont care that the price of the necklace is low, I really like it. I didn't say he couldn't pay for it, I was just trying to be nice by not making him use all of his money on me.

I doubt he will give me money to pay for his gift and either way I don't care if he does. I'm trying to be nice by giving him the money (Half or full) for the the gift so he doesn't have to use all the money on it.

if you want those things buy them yourself its in very bad taste to give him the money and tell him what to buy. you are obviously too young to be dating

the point of a gift is for you to go out and pick out something the other would like and buy it with your money.

Giving someone money to buy you a gift defeats the purpose of it being a gift. If you want it that bad buy it yourself since it is for you, and you would be paying for it anyways...Thats just dumb.

you dont need to give him any money.. its for you.. you just dont do that... he would be wrong to even take the money in the first place but you are out of your mind if you give him money for a gift for you

yeah.....that is wrong if thats the case you should just buy it yourself, and he might feel like you think that he can't afford you if you have to give him the money to but you a gift.

OMG! It's totally wrong. You can number one, buy it for yourself or number two, ask him to buy it with his own money. If it's too expensive and don't want to waste all his money, DON'T ASK FOR IT. Come on, be a bit mature now :]

no, its not but look at it this way its like if your telling him/ making him feel like if he doesn't have the money for it you know, like some thing low i know that if that would of happen to me not that i'm a dude but i would feel like what the hell is she trying to do or thinking you know, so if i were you just hold up into he surprices you then afterwards you can go on your own or ask him to go w/ you to buy what you wanted.
