A student majoring in Finance at a UC School with a 2.5 or a student majoring in Finance at California State University with a 3.5 gpa?

Both students are Finance majors and both have the same amount of experience. Which one would you choose and why?

I would interview them both to see how they dealt with "real world" questions and whether they had good communicative skills.

Major- the same, not an issue.
School - no issue
Grades. Did the one with the 3.5 Gpa have a natural ability to do well in school, and the 3.5 gpa was what was expected of him, while the one with the 2.5 had to work his tail off to get what he did?
I'd go with the one with the 2.5,

Get someone with experience. (neither of these two) A college degree is overrated (and yes I am a college grad). There is no replacement for experience.
