It means a person may be overly curious, overly analytical or they think too much, and it may affect their enjoyment of simplicity. I have a perfect example...
My ex-husband and I went to see the band RUSH at an outdoor venue. (we are still good friends). We both LOVE this group, we had great seats, and the music was phenomenal. Although he was enjoying the music, while everybody else was singing and dancing and swaying and clapping...he spent much of the time looking upward into the rafters following the light operators, and watching the stage hands and security people, and even walked over near the sound board to check it out. He is not a musician or technician of any sort...just very very curious.
I think also, that a lot of people say this in a derogatory way, often meaning that the other person asks too many questions, wants too many details, or thinks they know everything already.

If I were to say such a thing to someone it would probably mean that their knowledge and wisdom could be harmful mentally, thusly causing them heartache and unnecessary worry....that is if I were to say such thing.
