Vista or any operating system, has nothing to do with your resolution

That is down to your graphics card and monitor.

It might if you ahve a computer with a video card that has that resolution. Kinda weird though, unless it is a cheap widescreen display, then maybe? Very hard to answer this question with so little info and no details sorry.
