The child right now is only a month, I've been looking at taking him when he's 3 or 4

Reason I said 3 was that I have a neice who is 24 now that we took when she was 3 and she remembers it very well.

4 to 6 years old is the best tiem for a first trip. If you have older kids you want to take you can take younger kids but they wont get as muuch out of the trip and may not remember a lot of things. I spoke to two little girls who were celibrating their fourth birthdays at Disneyland on Friday and they were having lots of fun, the haunted mansion was scary but peter pan was great. Right in that age range is really magical for them, especially if they watch some of the Disney animated movies and reconize the characters but are not afraid of them. They will also be able to do many of the rides and all the shows, and have a good time, remember much of the trip. Take lots of pictures and include them on the planning so they are ready to go.

But dont let having a small child prevent you from going and having a good time, leave the baby with relitives for a day or two and go have fun without kids, it might be your last chance for many years.

At least 3.
My sister and I went when I was 5 and she was 3.
She doesn't remember too much but i remember heaps.
So maybe 4/5/6/7 would be better ages.
Any age can work at Disneyland though, as long as they're at least a toddler.
Disneyland is for everyone and anyone after all!

Also, people, I'm 13 and Disneyland still has the same old magic for me. Teens and pre-teens don't neccasserily mean a pain in the butt. Me and my sister went in June, I was 13 she was nearly 11 and we had the greatest time!!
Almost any age works at Disneyland!!

The answer to your question depends on why you are taking your child. If you are taking him just because you want to go to Disneyland, then I would say the best age could be anywhere from 2 years on up. Disneyland has lots of services to help you through your day with an infant or toddler. If you are wanting him to have a good time, you could take him as early as 3, but know that you would definetely have to take more breaks and he wouldn't be able to ride as many things, plus the big fuzzy characters might be scary. Overall for his enjoyment and yours, I would say around 5 is the perfect age - he will be able to recognize characters from his favorite Disney movies and ride most of the attractions and he will have more staying power than if he was younger. We have taken our kids at varying ages, and that is what we have found :)

I took my nephew when he was 4 months old but he didn't get a ton out of it (for obvious reasons). But my sister and I have taken him 3 times since he turned one and he loves it. There are actually a lot of rides they can go on (pirates, most all of the rides in fantasy land). Here is the thing though, we all have annual passes to Disneyland (except for my nephew he is free to get in). So we only go for a few hours on Sundays or Fridays. That way if he is cranky or it's too busy then we really don't have to stay because we didn't buy a one day ticket. I see kids there all the time that are passed out in strollers because they have been there all day. If you live in southern California....just get a cheap pass (i think the cheapest one is $100) and take your kid....don't go for an all day thing until they are close to 5, other wise you'll probably be really tired and cranky and so will your kid.

We went this year, and my children were 6 and 4. It was just about the right time. They enjoyed themselves, but didn't get over tired and start complaining. They will be able to remember most of the trip when they are older, too. They were able to ride all of the smaller rides and some of the bigger ones. We will take them back when they are 12-15 so they can ride the rest of the bigger rides.

That's the perfect age!! Especially if you show them classic disney movies before you go so they recognize the characters. We took my cousin (4) last December and she had a blast!!! Especially when seeing the princesses! Any earlier than that and they are often scared of the characters and can't do many rides. We took my brother at 2 and he wouldn't go anywhere near Mickey Mouse, but when we too him at 5 he had a blast!

I'm taking my 3 year old because she loves everything Disney. I know she can't go on some rides, but thats okay. 1 month is too young for them to remember anything obviously. If you are going anyway, amke sure you take some one to help out so you can enjoy some of it too

I'd say from 6-9 years old. When I went to Disney World I was 9, and it was a good age because I was still impressed with all the "magic" of Disney, but I was old (and big!) enough to ride on all the rides, like the roller coasters and the Tower of Terror. Plus, I have great memories of it.

I wouldn't go until they are at least 5 or 6. That way they can be tall enough for the rides, remember it later, and enjoy themselves without being too reliant on you.
