i go with the feeling, one look, if i feel good the window comes down, if not the window goes up...looks don´t always play a part, its the attitude as well and how the person moves, it all plays a part...there have been times i put it in gear and hit the gas. some people are just scary.

Most likely roll it down. I live in a very safe, small seaside community with almost no violent crime and a lot of visitors on holiday. People have always approached me for help - must have one of those faces - and I'm not about to change.

The only time I would be hesitant would be if it was late night in the carpark, no-one else around and I had just got money out of the ATM.

I think in present times it is definitely wise to roll the window up And lock all the doors. If he/she is innocent they will not mind speaking through a closed window. Unfortunately there are so many thugs, maniacs about. Better safe than sorry is the motto of the day in circumstances like this.

Well, I usually wait to see if they are going to ask me something. Then I crack it if I wish to speak to them. The only people that I roll it down for all the way would be a police officer, friend, or relative.
If my windows already down. I would only roll it up if they made a threatening move toward me. Rolling it up is just like closing the door in someone's face.

It depends on the strainger! I know probably the correct answer would be keep the window up, but there are some people that dont really appear as a threat and may need help. You have to be a good judge of character for that one. If in doubt, leave the window up.

It really depends on where I am, I'd usually roll it down a little bit and see what the person wants, with the door locked of course

carjackings are on the rise around here. This new walmart near my old house opened up and in the first week some old woman got carjacked.

So I roll the windows up and lock the doors.

Just happened about a week ago. I was eating in the parking lot of a drive through place. Windows are electric. I was turned away and he startled me. I tried to give the impression I wasn't interested in conversation and luckily he went away pretty quick. If he hadn't, I'd have probably turned the key to alt and put em up.

all depends on situation, if it was dark and I was alone in car, central locking and window up! If it was daytime and i was in a busy area then window down, he/she would probably be after directions? The doors would still be locked though!
