I am an 18 male Australian, I got $4000 but not sure if I should go over to Europe at end of year to work and travel or work in Australia a bit more first, then go over next year when I am 19.

What to do you think?

I have no idea what jobs I would do and what jobs I should go for :(

I feel a bit down because I am wasting time now and I feel lost as I don't know what to do.

Go ahead and get on the road. The hardest thing to do is take that first step and leave. You don't have to fly into Europe right away as this would be expensive. You can work your way up to South East Asia by way of Bali, Singapore, and then you have the choice of all the countries like Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. These countries are really cheap to live in and its easy to get a job teaching English. (if you can get a certificate of some kind to prove your teaching talents you will make more money) but you don't have to have a cert. you just make less money without it. There are always bar jobs and the local Expats will generally help out if you have any personality at all.
From there you can work your way west through India, the Arab countries and eventually through the Mediterranean and on to Europe. I would love to be your age and do a trip like this.

Take the plunge and find the cheapest way to get out of the country. And Go Go Go.

I have lots of tricks for living cheap on the road. Email me if you have questions.

PS: you can get an "Around the World Ticket" for a pretty reasonable price. check out the web sites.
