Wow! I can't believe how much people spend on their kids!
I just have 1 kid- he's 10. I don't think it's the amount you spend on them, it's the quality of the gifts, and whether or not they will appreciate them.
Last year I bought him a little stereo, a cd, and a huge tub of Tinker Toy's from Costco (about $30.00).
He still plays with the tinker toys daily, and loves his cd, and stereo.
I already started my shopping so this year I have bought him a Beatles T-Shirt, and am planning to buy a Bob Marley Soccer poster, a new CD, and some Lego's (he loves to build stuff).
I think he will love everything and use everything I have purchased.
I hate to see presents go unused. I threw away an entire bag of his toys recently that were broken. And we donated 3 bags to Charity. I saw a lot of old presents in there! So from now on, it's only sensible presents.

I only spend 100 on each child and I have a 1 year old and a two year old. It is crazy how much other people spend. Christmas is not all about presents and getting stuff and I want my children to appretiate the gifts I give them and not spoil them to death.

100.00-150.00 each kid. If I have it I'll spend more, but I have a spending limit that I try to go by. Also, I give each of my kids the same amount of gifts. I give them 10-20 dollars each to buy eachother gifts, they love that. Even though I spend that much I try not to make it about that, plus my kids are cool they much rather have lots of goodies and their favorite foods and dishes.

Last year I think I spent about $150 on my 2 kids. I know it doesn't sound like much...but we went to the KB toys outlet store and came away with some good deals. I also "helped" my brother in law buy my kids their gifts (he's disabled and sent a gift card....wanted it used to buy the material to make them fringed pillows and blankets).

I'm not a mommy, yet, but my mom spends about $350 on me and about $350 on my sister. I'm 24 and she's 19. But she orders a lot of our gifts through magazines in the mail or uses her department store credit cards so she usually only spends about half of that in actually cash.

$300 per child, some get more presents than others, cause their clothes and toys are cheaper.
But they always get things they ask for. I'm not standing in that huge line after Christmas for returns.
They get one expensive gift, clothes, new boots, and what is left over, I buy a few inexpensive gifts on their list.

I try to keep it at around $200.00, but these days you don't get much for that amount, so i usually end up spending close to $300.00. I remember when i was young and my parents would spend $100.00 on me and i would get tons of gifts for that amount!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish there was not so much pressure at Christmas, and it was not all about getting the best gifts :-)
