I'd rather have commonsense. Combined with persistence and reasonable intelligence you can do a lot.
Super smart and lacking commonsense can give the appearance of stupidity

Ok I totally disagree with whoever said that lots of people have common sense. Way too many people DON'T have common sense. Common sense is ironically not very common. I'd rather have common sense and be smart in life than be book smart. I could care less about being book/school smart!!! Being smart in life will get you way further

Good question!
My boyfriend is very smart, but lacks common sense.
I'm not that book smart (even though I did graduate from college) but I have more common sense.
I prefer to have more common sense b/c I can pretty much figure anything out on my own.

Personally, I wish I were really smart. If I were smart I would be able to talk to people on any level. As it stands now, I try my best to avoid talking to intelligent people, because I don't want to be labeled as an uneducated black woman who can't communicate effectively. It's funny this question has come up, as communication is a weakness for me. It's something I struggle with daily.

common sense - I know some people who are very intelligent but have NO common sense, and they're really no fun to be around.
I may not be that smart, but I'll keep my common sense, thankyouverymuch!

Common sense....I'm smart, but no Einstein, & I deal with pseudo-intellectuals while working.......I'll take the sense.

luckily i have both, but common sense gets me so much further. it lets me read people and be able to talk to others very well. that is more of what the business world is about.
