I had that problem with my second and Zofran didn't work for me but Reglin did for the most part. Just call your O.B.'s office and let them know that the Zofran isn't working and they may call in something else for you. I tried 4 different prescriptions before the vomiting 15-20 times a day slowed to 1-2 with Reglin.

ok hun i had the same thing from 5 weeks pregnant till the day my son was born all day every day sometimes 30 times a day was admitted to hospital 3 times with severe dehydration. i also work in an antenatal clinic in a busy maternity hosptal. so i know wot im talking about. this is a condition called hyperemisis (severe morning sickness) my best tips for you are . keep yourself as hydrated as possible the second u get dehydrated the sickness gets alot worse. . just eat what you fancy even if that is crisps its more important you eat1 and finally if you get to the point where u havnt been able to keep water down... then go to hospital becuse you will need admitting wish there was a miracle cure but there isnt and hopefully urs will pass :-) good luck x

I feel your pain. I was sick with my daughter every day for 9 months--lost almost 30 lbs with that pregnancy. With my son I lucked out and got a 2 1/2 month semi-reprive during my second trimester, so I managed to get back to my pre-pregnant weight by delivery. Sometimes, you're just sick. If you go for more than 24 hours and don't keep anything (including liquid) down, you need to call your doctor. I had to go in several times during each pregnancy and be re-hydrated with iv saline.
Some things that helped me (that I could keep down)were:
weak tea
Lemonade flavored gatorade (it's amazing what you can stomach when you're sick)
dry cheerios (I kept them by the bed)
gingersnaps (ginger is supposed to help nausea)
jello--get the regular kind, not sugar free
I would bet green tea would even be helpful as well. Remember the important thing is to keep hydrated--trust me when I say you don't want to get dehydrated--you'll feel so much worse.
Some things I learned quickly to avoid like the plauge were:
milk, eggs, cheese, and carbonated drinks (burned like crazy coming back up!). This is going to sound gross, but I got to the point where I would eat something that I knew wouldn't be too disgusting when it came back up.
Good luck! I hope you get feeling better soon.

I had the same thing and it didn't start til 12 weeks and then went until 28 weeks. I found lemonade to work. The bitterness of the lemons settled my stomach and and made it so I could eat. Nothing that was prescribed for me was worth all the groggy side effects. Its got to be real lemonade though- my fave was Chik Fil A's stuff. Also grapefruit tangerine juice from tropicana worked well for me- although if you drink to much it makes for a higher result on your blood sugar pee tests!

Someone above mentioned drinking a full glass of water... and it may have worked for her!.. BUT, be careful not to drink it too fast if you do on an empty stomach as it will make you sick.....I drank sprite and 7-up and it helped...and eating crackers before you even get out of bed does help too.. I was REALLY sick with my 1st baby ALL day long as well....Eat several small meals thru out the day.. that helped me.

Nothing really worked for me i was sick all day everyday from 6 weeks to 16 weeks, the only thing i could do was stay away from things that made it worse.
You could try ginger, dry toast before getting out of bed stuff like that but you might find it will start to ease very soon they say once you start to feel your baby moving morning sickness easies.
Good luck and congratulation.

No offense, doctors prescribe stuff doesn't mean it will work. Keep telling him or her you are really sick. If you have to go to ER sometimes those doctors are specialists and can prescribe or give samples for different stuff. But it could pass after 3rd trimester. Mine sort of did. Now I am just dizzy for last two months. The doctors won't give me anything for it and I can barely stand. I am sick too. I hope to pass out so I can go to ER. They may help both of us.

My mom swore by eating saltines before she got out of bed. As soon as she would wake up, she'd eat a few crackers. Oyster crackers are similar but smaller which could be easier.
Can you drink anything? Carnation instant breakfast may help.

Eat anyway and puke. It is rotten to feel nauseous and gross to heave but your new kid needs food. Find what ever stays in by rotating different things and stick to what stays in best. For me with my first it was Minestrone soup. With the second it was yogurt. The good news is that you should stop being sick by the third trimester and at worst you have only 25 more weeks of puking to go.
