I can't remember one for myself, but when my son was little I made him a robot costume out of a cardboard box that I spray painted silver, then punched little holes in the front and taped battery operated Christmas lights to the inside. I stuck the bulbs through the little holes and set them to blink so he was a robot that had little blinking lights. I also glued little washers and colored plastic screw nuts to the outside of the box. It was inexpensive to make, I think I just gave a couple of dollars for the strand of 20 lights, and he won all kinds of awards for it at school and stuff!

When I was very little, my mother made me a flower costume. I wore green pants and shirt, and had a tissue and paper "headress" that looked like a flower. There were tissue petals and everything. I love those photos and I even remember some people commenting on the cute little girl dressed like a flower.

My cousin and I went as George and Barbara Bush, lol, with perfect life like masks and everything. That was probably the best because we definatly got some interesting reactions out of people. One woman reached in our candy bowls and took our candy and right before she slammed the door in our faces said that she wouldn't support the republicans. LOL, thats a way to get people riled up! lol

The only one I ever won a prize for was the one at school last year where I won a prize for an enzyme costume that I made out of foam and pipe cleaners. I had beta sheets and alpha helices and everything, and I called myself chocolatyl transferase and handed out candy. (I'm in the medical school, so they understood.)

I was spiderman-which was cool because I am a girl and I was a shero before the term existed. The costume was so tight that I split it. Spiderman never had curves and the suit was made for a mans frame not a womans shape...LOL

How about a bunch of purple grapes. You pin purple ballons to a sweat suit. And wear a hat with a green stem on it.
