It is because the USA already has four major sports;
American Football, Basketball, Baseball, & Ice Hockey.
Football/Soccer is popular within the latin communities and women's football is very competitive there.
It will grow with time.

Football in the United State is very popular because they have the facilities allocated to them. With this it makes the training of people/players very easy and also their fee is good.More so, they are the best.

It's all down to dollars! If every player in the MLS could earn what Landon Donovan does or even David Beckham you would see many more people try to make it in soccer professionally. If you are athletic but could make more money playing basketball than soccer which would you choose?
Every sport has it's merits I recently began to appreciate American football much more after getting to know the sport.

Untied States most popular games are ones that we have had a long standing history of winning. Not the case with football.

if american football players are better than real football ones then why do they have differnet players out when a team is attacking and defending.
In Real football 11 players start with a maxium of 3 subs allowed, these same 11 players will defend and attack, and the game will not stop every 5 seconds while they attacking team deciede what they are going to do next to get 10 yards further up the field.

Cause they have this fake version of rugby which they call 'Football'. You know Americans like to change the world so they made up their own game.

Because Yanks don't like to play sports or games that they didn't invent. They can stand the fact that another country invented a better sport than them.

and cant be normal
even the way they speak is stupid!
and they think they are the best country in the world!
and they think their sports is better than other country's sports (football).

b/c for 1, americans dont have the patients to watch Real Football where you actually use your feet, and 2nd, most Americans suck at it, with the exceptions of Landon Donavan, Brian McBride, and DeMarcus Beasley

because america has american football,basket ball and hocky which are girly sports. you dont see jonny wilkinson covered head to toe in protective gear. english sports like football oops sorry soccer and rugby are men sports. american soccer players are aload of rubbish,remember cobi jones who played for coventry city in 95/96 season he was really cack! COME ON ENGLAND.
