What was that all about? It's nice that she can be real with her audiance, but the story was just weird. She was crying because they took a dog away from a family? Oh my gosh if that was the worst thing to happen to me in my life, that would be a great life... haha I love Ellen. That was uncomfortable to watch.

The adoption agency couldn't visit the pup in its new home and do the paperwork there; rather than ripping the puppy away from its home??? This poor puppy has been through enough already, the agency could have a heart, no matter who gave the dog away, a celeb or not. That's not the issue. The agency overreacted and is putting that pup through more trauma than is necessary, if the agency had a brain/heart behind it. This pup is going to need a lot of love and nurturing after this agency gets done with it. I realize there was on oversight on Ellen's part by not reading the contract, and that was not smart and as you can see she is very sorry, but there has to be a better way than putting dogs through this trauma.

I think the point Ellen was trying to make was that the dog had a good home and the people she got it from picked it up. I imagine they wanted to advertise that Ellen adopted one of their dogs and when that adoption didn't work out for Ellen and Portia, she found a good home for the dog herself. I think the people that took the dog back may have had an ulterior motive.

Ellen is a sweet person and I think she did the right thing, however it sure got a lot of unnecessary attention.

It was all over the news yesterday and Ellen hides nothing from us, so she wanted us to hear her views, that's all.

I don't think you are heartless, I think you are trying to catch up on the Ellen news.

None of us know a person's private life that is going on while she is doing the show. She probably genuinely liked these kids and felt bad for them. I think the group might be able to be sued for emotional harm done to the child.

But she may have had other things going on and this was just one more thing...and why she had the emotional breakdown.
Seemed a little extreme for the situation...but there is no way we could tell...we only see the surface.

And I think she was so upset because the whole was technically her fault since she did not read the paperwork when she adopted the dog. I think she was showing remorse, which is admirable. And I don't actually think she was at fault, I think the Mutts and Moms place is the one being the "bad guy". I didn't think it was uncomfortable to watch, it just made Ellen seem like even more of a "real" person to me, just my opinion...

don;t forget what a HUGE animal lover she is
the agency took the dog away from a loving family & two kids who loved that dog Ellen admitted she made a mistake & was clearly upset about the whole incident & it will make news all over so she is just being honest with her fans
I applude her for her courage to tell it on TV & yes she is allowed to have a bad day just like the rest of us.....

I completely agree with you. There are children starving to death all over the world and she's having a conniption over a dog? Nobodies dead, get over it. I hate to sound cold hearted but there are so many terrible things happening in the world today that it annoys me to see someone so upset over something so pointless. Cry over the AIDS epidemic or the soldiers we've lost in Iraq but not over a dog that will probably just get adopted again.

If you understand how difficult that must have been for the kids then you can have a bit of sympathy. Also, the dog is getting attached to these people as well and now its just snatched up cause of red tape.

WOW you are heartless. It was a dog that had become attched to the kids and vice versa! You try giving your kids a dog and then take it away. Watch their little heart breaks! I think how she acted was appropriate for the situation.
