With the Rockies hot streak- is it going to matter where they play on the road? Fenway can be pretty daunting and Jacobs field is no cake walk either- but is home field advantange a thing of the past?

Home field ALWAYS matters in baseball. How can anyone say no?

The Rockies are on a definate streak, it's something to marvel at, however, the NL is a weaker league. That's not at all to take away from the Rockies success! That being said, I believe both the Rockies and Indians are living a season of destiny. It's been a long time for the Indians (and I think they'll beat the Red Sox) and it's been never for the Rockies, so the baseball gods need to decide which team of destiny deserves it more. I don't see the Rockies sweeping through the World Series, but I think it can be very close but probably with Cleveland winning it in 6, mainly because the Rockies will have to play 2 games in the AL park. So home field will play to Cleveland's advantage. And the AL has home field advantage due to the AL's winning the All-Star game again.

If you are the Rockies where do you want to be? When you have a situation in the 9th inning of a tie game and less than two outs, runners on second and third with Ortiz at the plate and Manny to follow, where do you want to be?

In Boston where you have pick your poison between David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez and hope that you keep them from hitting a fly ball, or do you want to be in Colorado under the same situation where you still have a chance to score in the bottom of the 9th regardless of what happens?

If I'm the Rockies, I'd prefer the homefeild in that case.

And obviously the Rockies are having their best season, they swept the Phillies and the Diamondbacks to get into the world series for the first time in their franchise history. They are on a tear, but that doesn't mean that they have a cake walk vs. Boston or Cleveland.

Cleveland has all ready proven that they can take it to both the Yankees and the Red Sox, the two top dogs in the AL east that are the talk of the league year in and year out. Boston is Boston, perrenial powerhouse line-up and the overall pitching to go with it.

What Colorado did against Philly and Arizona is all ready impressive, but it doesn't get any easier for them playing whoever represents the AL in the word series.

Home field advantage is always an issue. Once again this year MLB teams had problems winning on the road. Only 8 out of the 30 teams had winning records on the road while 20 of 30 teams had winning records at home. A hot team can offset that disadvantage to some extent but it is still something to pay attention too since the AL team will have that advantage.

Several factors come into play, the Rockies now have a 8 day layoff; they have to do something to stay sharp and keep that edge. Plus as we have seen in the past few World Series they need to have one aspect especially sharp, their pitching staff...if Cleveland has their staff just as sharp I think it could be a barn burner. Boston still has Dice K and Gagne throwing gas cans out there so it may get ugly with their pitching staff, they just do not seem to have the right staff to get it done...in my opinion!

when your team is red hot like the rockies home field advantage doesn't really matter.

I personally don't think so. I think the crowds at any major league park can really change the mood, and help a team gain some momentum.

as hot as the Rockies are, I do not see the AL winning a single game, so I would say no
