I think Callahan may be safe for a while since they sacrificed the AD, so who else moves to the top of that list?

Callahan keeps his job for two reasons, he is still the best man to move the 'Huskers into the modern era of college football, and the AD being sacrificed like a pawn on the board of University politics.

Charlie Weiss has one of the most air-tight contracts in college football, so he has the time to turn around a program that is starting to stink on ice. The best thing that Notre Dame can do to help the man out is to join a conference. Sure you might lose a couple of traditional games from the schedule but the recruiting benefit alone will make his job easier.

The Right Reverend Houston Nutt keeps his job this year because of the off-season freak show from last year. He still brings out a competitive team every week and recruits his state better than any other coach that has held his job.

Ed Orgeron is keeping his job, because he finally has the Ole Miss fans seeing some light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. His team has played their collective hearts out for him this season and that is enough along with a good recruiting class to keep his job.

Sly Croom at Mississippi State keeps his job because he beat Auburn and has his team drinking the Kool-Aid. If he can get himself a more durable quarterback on campus then he is set up for a run in the SEC.

Dave Wannstedt at Pitt, is gone I'm afraid. He won't pass go and will not get the 200 bucks. He has not improved the program, if anything his pro mentality has hindered it's progress.

Jeff Tedford could be lured away from Cal if the school doesn't pony up the money for better facilities. He has been begging the school for several years to improve the facilities for recruiting purposes and if they continue to ignore his requests then another team that is willing to spend the money on him and the football facilities could wreck the Bears plans.

Callahan is good as gone at the end of the season. He sucked as a Raider coach and now he is dragging a power house football team through the mud. I wouldn't be surprised if they interview Terry Bowden. He is going to be a coach somewhere next year. Tom Osborne would be a perfect AD for their program and get them back into the national spotlight.

Michigan's Coach is at the top of the list. It might come down to the Ohio State Game and the Big Ten Championship.

In no particular order:

Charlie Wiess - too many players leaving campus...that doesn't say a whole lot for the coach.

Dave Wannstadt - do I even have to explain

Ed Orgeron

Dave Callahan

Dave Wannstedt at Pitt
Bill Callahan at Nebraska
Ed Orgeron at Mississippi
Dennis Franchione at Texas A&M
Houston Nutt at Arkansas

Take your pick.

Weis won't leave Notre Dame, and Carr probably got salvaged when Michigan's schedule got easier and they won five games, but still expect him to retire at the end of the season.

I think Houston Nutt this is the third time the Razorbacks have lost heartbreakers.
Also Louisville's head coach Steve K. even though they beat Cincy on saturday, they've lost 3 games. And thats just not go enough for the BCS dreamer's of Louisville.

Coach Carr at Michigan, to tell you the truth he is already cooked, his seasoned ended in September. He could win out and still be fired. Say hello to Les Miles as the next Michigan coach.

I believe Dennis Franchione at Texas A&M has to do something really good this year to keep his job. Although he beat Texas last year, and went 9-4, the schedule is much tougher this year. Games at Miami, OU, and Texas Tech are going to be tough. One bright spot is playing Texas at College Station. I think the Aggies could have a better team than last year, with a worse record.
