i wouldn't say America's team- and I am a Coloradoan and Rockies fan. We are the underdogs, and I don't think that will change. We are supposedly still running on luck, but I say that's just because we haven't gotten the respect our guys deserve yet.
Oh, and I'm an average fan- I love the Phillies too, and I can name 4 guys on our team.
Troy Tulowitzki- shortstop (in the running for rookie of the year, and it will be robbery if he doesn't win it)
Yorvit Torrealba- catcher
Manny Corpas (our wonderful closer, but I think he's a bit wild and unpredictable
Matt Holliday- left field, MVP
Todd Helton- first
I could go on, but no need to. Soon all of america will know their names!!!

I think what he means to imply is that the Rockies are America's darlings, everybody, regardless of what team you are a fan of is caught up in the Purple Reign and is amazed by their run of success and encouraging it to continue. It's amazing to see Helton, finally make it to the playoffs. He was the 3rd longest MLB player never to make the playoffs. And if by now you can't name 4 people on the Rockies team, then you haven't been paying much attention or aren't a fan of baseball. It's great to see a team that wins by doing all the right things get some national exposure. This is a team based on solid pitching and defense. They are not America's Team based on a lack of history but they are America's Darlings this year and everybody should hop on the Rockies bandwagon and enjoy this ride as this is great for MLB!

Yeah I think they are for this reason: The roster is mostly Americans! I'm not going to look every other team up, but it seems like most teams are a majority of Latin/South American players. A majority of the Rockies are born in the states. So in that aspect, sure. The Rockies are definitely the Rockys of America. I can hear Adrian screaming now, "You can't win Rocky, You can't win!" What an underdog story....keep your fingers crossed.

this is not honest and that i doubt this is criminal. there have been some fashionable appropriate court docket judgements interior the 1940's conventional because of the fact the flag salute circumstances. The latter case in touch babies kicked out of school for refusing to salute the flag or recite the Pledge of Allegiance. finally the court docket desperate that the West Virginia regulation in touch became into unconstitutional. mutually as the area you describe isn't same, an analogous criminal concepts ought to prepare. regardless of the regulation, mandating fake patriotism is stupid. On a private word, I grew up in a miles off places u . s . and every day the Pledge of Allegiance equivalent for that u . s . became into recited at college. I consistently remained silent - the only student to realize this. not one of the teachers or different figures of authority ever gave me any issues over this.

I wouldn't say America's Team. They're definitely the feel good story of the year, though. When they beat out the Padres for the wild card, I kind of laughed and thought, well that was a good fight, but now you're done. I don't believe anyone outside of Colorado thought these guys would go as far as they have and it's been exciting for me to watch them prove everyone wrong. Someone said they're more like America's darlings; that seems more fitting.

Everyone loves an underdog and the Rockies have endeared themselves to many people, but to elevated them to an elite status of "America's Team" might be taking it a little too far.

They're America's underdogs, that's for sure. I'm not sure the term "America's team" should ever be used unless it's the Olympics.
I'm definitely rooting for them. And if they play the Red Sox, who's the evil empire then? The Red Sox (the new Yankees).

ughhh... no.
If they were America's team... then I would think the average fan could name four guys on thier team.
They are a great story though.
I think they're about to hit a wall in the WS. The AL is just that strong.
