No, simply because of all rules that have changed since Montana played. The NFL is geared to help offenses, Montana didnt have that luxury and was still great. The rule changes sort of make today's offensive players a little overrated when compared to guys who played with harsher rules and at the same time makes todays defensive players seem greater then all the guys from the past. So in my opinion no but the best QB of all time is always a question of opinion.

Montana is far better and it's not even close. The Patriots have won their championships based on defense. Also, they have been able to get many great free agents to come there. How many championships would the Niners have won if there was free agency in the 80's and early 90's? A lot more than 4 because the great players of the 80's would have loved to sign on with Rice, Montana, Lott, etc.

This is a great question! Like Montana, Brady plays on a good TEAM. He doesn't have to do it all himself. But they are very strikingly similar. The only thing Brady lacks right now are the multiple 4th quarter comebacks when way behind and a 4th ring. Other than that they both have lead winning drives in Super Bowls and have almost identical wining percentages. They also manage a game in a very similar fashion and their teams rarely get blown out.

Yes...I think we will be able to say that. Tom Brady has three Super Bowls, and I see no reason why he won't get a fourth or a fifth. It isn't even a generational thing. Tom Brady hasn't had his Jerry Rice until now. He didn't even really have a superior running back until Corey Dillon came along, and even then, he wasn't as brilliant as he was when he played for Cincinnati. This is the first time in his career that Tom Brady has anything resembling what Joe Montana had, and he is making mountains out of it.

I would have to say that there is a very good possibility that he will be. Tom Brady is an excellent QB. Now he has Randy Moss, on of the leagues best receivers like Joe Montana did with Jerry Rice.I think that Tom Brady will surpass Joe Montana but fall short to Peyton Manning.

NO Way! Montana played back when QB's were allowed to be hit, back when they were football players, not precious golden-boys that cannot be touched. In each their respective eras, it is really a tough question, but all in all, Montana was a more productive QB. Teams in his day payed with what they had, unlike the Pats, the 49ers could not go out and just buy what they needed. They won consistently with Rice, Taylor, Rathman, Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark, etc. The Pats (Like the NY Yankees) are just buying rings!

Tom Brady has the rings along with every other player on the team at the time.Superbowls dont tell us who the best QB is.Things like arm strength, accurcy, tuffness,Warrior mentality, mobility, dependabiliy, eccedra. These are the things that judge an individual player.

To be a great QB you have to have great receivers. Football is a team sport. You win as a team and you lose as a team. The Patriots would not be where they are without Brady and Brady would not be where he is now without Bledsoe getting hurt and sending him into full time play. He was good but he was a backup.

They are both a little overrated because they are system QB's who have spent their whole careers surrounded by great talent and coaching. If my life depended on it, I would rather have the ball in Montana's hands though. He was Brady plus mobility!
