i agree 100%. last week there was an article about canada and a possible rebellion due to socialized medicine. there are doctors who are illegally opening private clinics so that people can get medical care and those doctors are being shut down and some arrested. RIDICULOUS!!!! i am hoping against hope that hillary doesn't dupe america into thinking that she can run this country.

The British socialized health care is not perfect, our medicare is not great either. When you are ill and over 65 years of age, you will find out. The workers sitting on the medicare approval board are just a group of incompetent. A lot of normal illness will not be approved by them. We as the tax payer did not even have a chance to dispute with them. Everything will have to go through appeal board, another layer of red tape. In the meantime, the collection agency will get on your case. Do you want to appeal or, not to pay the bill and get your credit ruined?
You will have no choice to pay the medicare unpaid bill. Forget about the Hillary Clinton!
If Clinton did a good job on the national defense, or did the right things in getting rid of terrorists, we will not have 911. Bush just inherited the mess. I wish someone other than Hillary to be the next President. We can not afford her and Bill to fool around for another 4 more years.

THIS ARTICLE IS UTTER GARBAGE!!
*Sigh*
Listen to the truth, from a British person who knows:
There are ***free*** emergency dental clinics in every town and city of the UK that anyone in pain can go to and have the tooth extracted or filled, crowns replaced or any other emergency work that needs doing so there really is no excuse for doing that! I think thats an utter lie and these people are whackjobs
If you read the article properly you would see that it said these people (who are in a vast minority) did these things "rather than pay out for private treatment" - ie just the same as in America - they didn't have the money for **private** treatment or didn't have dental insurance. Its the same in the USA isn't it without socialised medicine? A completely non-socialised system means MORE people will be doing these things!
For the record, I don't know anyone who "Pulls their own teeth". Thats utter crap!!!
The dental system here is a bit different to general NHS medical treatment which is all free at point of contact. Dental treatment is only free for those who are unemployed or on (Welfare) benefits and others have to pay, but they can still pay reduced rates at an NHS dentist. Its a lot cheaper than it would be to go to a non NHS subsided dentist. Yes it can be hard to find an NHS dentist who accepts new patients but I've always managed it - it just takes a little ringing around. Or you can always go to a private dentist, just like in America. I know noone who goes without dental care and I live in a poor area!!! Emergency treatment is free at any time its needed.
If someone did pull their own teeth its because they obviously didn't bother getting dental insurance or keeping up their regular NHS appointments. Noone needs to do that, they can go to the out of hours emergency clinic any time they want.
The rest of our medical care - hospital care, doctors appointments etc are free. Noone goes bankrupt because they have cancer.
We have private medicine also and you are free to take out insurance for anything you want.
Whats better? A system where a child dies of a tooth abcess because her parents can't afford private dental fees? Oh yes thats what you currently have in the USA isn't it?! All children in the UK get free dental care and free medical care, prescriptions etc. Why is your 100% private system any better? How many people in the USA pull their own teeth because they can't afford private dental fees and have no dental insurance? I imagine its many many more than in the UK.

Nothing is perfect. I'd like to know what you'd be touting if you lived on this side of the Atlantic and could only obtain a minimum wage sustaining job without health care benefits and yet did not qualify for government assistance. The reality is that this is the plight of some 50 million Americans today.

I was sad reading the article and upset at the same time, I came from a so called third world (Mexico) and people like me are coming to this country not because we like McDonalds or because we want to "take away" somebody else's job. I do respect people's opinion on my people and I do respect the law...but living in a country like Mexico or England we HAVE to scape to a better opportunity....the U.S.A, may not be a perfect country but is the only country that embraced me. If we work hard we can get as much as we want. The question here is: what WE COULD do for this country and help the people that come here for help. and the people that come here, PLEASE get educated!!!

So true, that is why I am so glad after reading Hillary's plan that it is not even close to socialized medicine, but provides full coverage through the private sector mandates.
Glad for her plan and not some other socialized plans.
