Chickens can lay around 6 eggs a week, depending on the individual bird. The best you can do is make sure your hen has no exposure to any other rooster for at least a month, other than your jap roo, and save the eggs for a week and incubate them. It's not possible to tell which are male or anything like that, but you are likely to get a male if you incubate enough eggs. When they hatch, females generally have pinfeathers on their wings already, and after a few weeks, the males will start to redden on their comb.

You can not control what sex the chicks will be. She could lay six to ten eggs if she is "broody" and sets on them for 21 days, otherwise you need to incubate them in an incubator.
