I asked this question lately but didn't get any answers but one. I'm asking again....hopefully I'll get more answers this time...

Ok...I didn't bash my a** on anything but there's seriously something up. I can hardly walk let alone bend over. M y *shrink* said that I could have bruised OR broken it....should I go to my GP about this? I mean it's so painful that I can't stand it and just want to cry....the last time I did this was about 7 years ago when I fell down a staircase cuz I slipped on someone's trash bag at the top of the steps.

Do you know how much time it takes to heal if it's just brused it or also when you break it ? I know docs can't do a thing about it but geeze, this is a horrible sharp pain and I can push exactly where it hurts.

Maybe I broke something else down there but what do you think I should do? I have osteopenia which is a pre-curser to osteoporosis so my bones are weak and brittle so I could very well have broken something. Should I get an xray? help!!!

I shouldn't go to a chiropractor cuz I have a hip and knee replacement and they could seriously injure my body...they cold inadvertainly pull my hip out of it's pocket! For God's sake, I'm only 45...what next, eh???? :-(

Question is, is what they can DO about a broken tailbone...nothing right? So should I still see my doc...and also I only asked my shrink cuz I talked with him about some other stuff and thought I'd ask him for starters....he knows just about anything..he's awesome!

I know you're upset by all this but the only logical thing to do is either go see your GP or go to the ER and get it x-rayed. You are despairing over all the hypothetical possibilities and are in a lot of physical pain. The reality is that nothing is going to change unless you do one of these two things. The only thing you have to fear, is fear itself.

The tail bone is very sensitive. I have had two kids and now mine is crooked. And hurts when ever i sit down for too long and if i push on it it is so painful yet it kind of relieves it at the same time. I have lived with it for four years but it is getting worse so i am going to see my chiropracter. Im not sure what happens to them but if yours is severe i definately think you should go and get it checked out.

Hope it gets better. I know how you are feeling. Ouch!!

I have had the same sort of thing before. I was a cheerleader and I did a front handspring on pavement. I landed right on my butt very hardd. And like I had problems for 2 years. But just incase you should get an xray. I never did and I am fine now..but lol I would just incase. =] Good luck!

My wife fell two steps and cracked her tailbone; was months before it healed.

Do yourself a favor and start with a GP, but see a doctor

All they can do is perscribe PT and make sure it is healing correctly; and of course help you deal with the pain

dont push at it.... for one...
i wouldnt say you broke it because you wouldnt be waisting your sweet time online sitting on it for two...
and tell your *shrink* the first guess was a better one.
if it doesnt get better within 3 days...maybe the sencond guess was actually the BEST.... goodluck with that. i felt your pain once before..but like i said give it 3 days... if it feels ANY better.... then your probably a whimp . but if its been three days and its not getting any better the x-ray machine awaits.

See your doctor, not your shrink.
They may have to do x-rays to make sure it isn't broken. Something could be misaligned, or you could have just bruised it real good. Either way you should see your doctor.

the last time I hurt my tailbone it just took forever (at least a month) to heal.

You should see your doctor on this one.

Let a chiropractor examine you, for goodness' sake.
