Is killing the Mako shark evil?

Am I the only one who feels sick to hear about a magnificent creature slaughtered?

To kill Mako Sharks just because they are Mako Sharks is evil.

To avoid the "evil" of the act there should be some sort of justification. Keeping them out of swimming areas for example. Not a great justification but at least its not just killing them indiscriminately. Even harvesting them as food I dont consider evil (yes they are harvested as food quite abit).

But I would definetly be against just slaughtering them in the open ocean and leaving them there.
