I know some companies offer training, but I'm wondering what I should know and expect if I go into this.
I've talked to a cable guy or two and they indicate you don't need to know much and it looks simple enough but I know there must be more to it. Also, different companies seem to have different requirements.
So, what might I do to prep for this job and how much can I expect to make an hour ( in the midwest ).
Thanks.

It should be just like when I started for the electric company, high school diploma and a good additude. That is all I needed and they send me to 2 schools a year for refresher courses. If you show them your ambitious and ready to work with a smile they'll hire you.

Probably being skinny so you can crawl under houses to fish cable. They should train you otherwise.
