Just wondering because you can trade emerald pokemon diamond, so why cant you trade the other way

i know about sinnoh pokemon to emerald, but i have a zapdoes in my diamond. can i trade that to emerald

u cant cuz emerald is old and cant support diamond but its possible the other way around

Because you have never been able to trade BACKWARDS across Pokemon generations. Mostly because of new-pokemon, new-items, new-moves, new move progressions, etc...

Its easier to just forbid backwards trading, then put in a bunch of rule filters to prevent illegal back-trades.

you cant. the reason is that they dont want you trading a sinnoh guy to an older version of pokemon.

No. right here is the way it fairly works: you positioned Pearl/Diamond interior the DS slot. you positioned Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire interior the GBA slot. you could no longer commerce, yet you could flow the Pokemon from the GBA video games to P/D. you could no longer deliver them returned, nonetheless, and as quickly as you deliver them over they flow POOF from E/R/S.

no because then you would be able to trade new pokemon like palkia to those games when they werent invented or drew yet
