Does you child sleep walk? My son doesn't neccisarily sleep walk, but he will "wake up" having to pee, but is lost trying to find the bathroom and if you try to talk him, he just looks at you like a zombie. I have to guide him through the house and tell him what to do and where to go. One time he peed in the hallway right next to the bathroom. Kids...lol.

Nothing to worry about darlin. They sleep so deeply at that age and he is just barely waking up when his bladder is full that's why you have to guide him. You're such a good mom. I'm so proud of you honey. ♥

It is called dream walking, (Basicly he is in a deep sleep and can not wake up) I had the problem as a child, I grew out of it around 10. You think you are dreaming, but are acutally wake, I went to the bathroom in the trash can in the kitchen in the middle of the night when I was 8, I thought I was in the bathroom. My Parents had all these test done on me, and I just grew out of it at ten, I learned how to check to make sure I was a awake and not a dream.

My oldest lasted from 7 to about 9. The trick is twofold...

1)Catch him the second he walks out the bedroom door and just lead the way so to speak through the can and back in bed.
2) Wake him up at the same time every night to pee. Our magic time was 10:45.

He will grow out of it. Mine made it all the way to the front door twice before we started waking him.

Those things happen. Try some of those night lights in the hallway or maybe one in the bathroom with the door open. It might help to see where he is going.

No matter what you do, be patient. Just a phase.

If it doesn't go away though, make sure you talk to him. There could be something really bugging him. Something that you or I would see as no biggie, but not to him. It could be something that is shattering his life. Once you find out what it is, the problem goes away, (if there is one)

My seven year old daughter does this any time she wakes up in the night. One time, I woke her up because she fell asleep on the floor and I told her to go to bed. She went to the bathroom and laid on the floor. lol It doesn't worry me because I know she's just not awake enough to be aware of what she is doing.
