The hospital told me the exact same thing when I was pregnant with my daughter, and as I grew larger (much, much larger!) the placenta moved up, like when you blow up a balloon. If you put a spot on the bottom of the balloon when its only a little bit blown up, when you fully blow it up to its capacity, you'll see that the spot has moved further up. At 28 weeks, you've still got a lot of growing to do, so theres a good chance that it will shift. They seem to like to tell you that you'll need a c- section, withall 3 of my kids (my youngest is 5 months) I was told with every pregnancy that I'd need a csection, they got me all worried for no reason, and I've delevered all of mine naturally, with absolutely no fuss. Best of luck to you for the rest of the twelve weeks you have left. Try not to worry too much. Hope this helps.....

If the placenta does not move, then yes, you will have a c-section. C-sections are not bad. In the end, the reward is the same, and thats what your concern should be, not how the baby is born, but the reward you receive in the end.

The chances of the placenta moving is very low. I've had a couple friends with same condition and all of them had c-sections with healthy babies. Just keep going to your obgyn and everything will be okay!!!

No, it can move right up to the last minute.
Dont worry about having a c-section through. I had to have an emergency one and it was fine, no problem.

just leave it to its fate, time will tell, regular follow-ups make the most sense, regular ultrasonography counts
pray, try and smile, its normal, as c-section isn't really a hardcore now a days, women, having C-sections recover in a few days with an appropriate postop treatment
u didn't tell ur other gyn history, this could limit the advices you may collect
Thanx

i dont reallyknow if it does move that often! a low lying placenta often blocks the cervix which makes it impossible for the baby to come our of the birth canal! fingers crossed and lets hope it does move for you!
