M4rky attends his first baseball game in the US and after a base hit he hears the fans roaring run....run! The next batter held his swing at three and two and as the ump calls a walk the Scotsman stands up yelling "R-r-run, r-r-run!" All the surrounding fans giggle quietly and he sits down confused.
A friendly fan, sensing his embarrassment whisper, "He doesn't have to run, he's got four balls."
After this explanation the Scotsman stands up in disbelief and screams, "Walk with pr-r-ride man! Walk with pr-r-ride!!!!"

This reminds me though - a friend of mine from the Toon was taken to Fenway Park for his first baseball game by a colleague, a rabid Boston Red Sox fan. Some time during the game, my friend caught a foul ball. The colleague had been going to Bosox games his entire life and never come close to one before, and was, to say the least, extremely peeved. My friend of course had no idea of the significance of this, and came very close to throwing the ball back.
