Punctuality means adhering to an appointed time. This implies that one has to do something or be present at a place at a previously known time. To achieve this, certain steps as under could be taken.
Understand clearly what is the time set for completion of an action or for being present at a particular place.
Plan all activities that precede completion/presence in such a way that it becomes possible to stick to the time mentioned.
Allow for exigencies such as traffic delays, non-availability of suitable transport. etc. in the planning process.
Frequently check that the planning process goes on as scheduled. Make corrections if you find there is an overrun in the time allocated to the main activities, and see what other non-essential activities could be compressed or postponed so that the original time limit could be adhered to.
In cases where you are not able to stick to the schedule, inform the other person(s) involved about it and see if you could reschedule the completion time.
Always try to finish the activity in such a way that you are at the end of the activity a little before the fixed time. For example, if you have an appointment for an interview at 10 am, make it a point to reach the place about 10 mts. or so earlier, so that you could rest adequately before your time for the interview is on.
