We all know that this genre of music is real heavy on sampling... In you opinion, do you think the "rap stars" is stealing ideas from other's or use people to write for them? Or do you think the people involved in that part of the music industry is able to write stuff themselfes?

Have your say:

Well most samples that are used arent the straight original sample...most producers will get a sample and extend on it...or add their own flavor to it...I know this annoys people because they arent "making" their own music...but like I said they do change it up a bit....Plus...they dont steal them because they have to pay for it/get the right to use them... An there are some artist/producers who do play their own instruments...But they are not as commercial as they groups you hear on the radio...Usually the "rap stars" that you are talking about have little to do with the musical production...

I personally love to hear original beats...but if people hear something familiar with a twist...It tends to go commercial and becomes a hit with the teens/young bucks... I just wont call them theifs cause like I said...Somebody is getting paid for what is being used...If the original artist really cared so much about their music they would not let it be used or sue for being used...
