Hmmm.

When I was a little girl, people of color were called Negroes. I recall most vividly James Brown with a song called "Say It Loud" and then, within a month or two, everyone who was previously a ***** was now black.

I was a young adult when I first heard 'African American.' That was a shrug, because being 'black' was much more interesting. There weren't any pop songs about being African American, and it applied to all of the diaspora (not just the long-term US residents) in a way that diluted its meaning.

So, it meant a big yawn.

Nope. People appear to suppose discrimination can handiest follow race. Right now Christians are below most important assault, aged persons have confronted discrimination for a couple of centuries, and in our present society, someone simply somewhat obese is frowned upon. Some may even discriminate established in your monetary popularity. Once you appear in any respect of the ones, I doubt someone race might pop out on best, despite the fact that it'll often be the only accused such a lot regularly.

I am an American. To become an African American you would have to have lived in Africa, and then move to America, and become a citizen. Since I didn't do that I am only an American. PERIOD
