I'm debating whether I should drop Jokinen, Koivu or Richards to grab free agent Antropov.

My guess is that I should drop Richards as he gets less ice time than the other two.

Is that a good long term bet to drop Richards to Antropov?

All three of the guys you have are better than Antropov. If you really want to drop one, definitely go with Koivu. Jokinen is a scoring machine, so he is the LAST one you want to drop. Richards is sold. Koivu is a little injury-prone. That said, when you drop one of these guys, don't be surprised if someone else picks them up and laughs at you this spring. It's too early in the season to overreact on a known loser's hot start. This is NOT the NFL. The season lasts 82 games!

Don't panic after a week or two. Antropov is ranked #2 in standard league format right now and I can assure you that will not last. One league I am in with so called "experts" a guy dropped JOE THORNTON to pick up Antropov. Silliness. Of course I have a waiver claim on him but I am 9th in line. Only explanation I can think is either someone has 2 teams and is #1 on the waiver list or the guy is just plain dumb.
Something else to consider is if your league does not have a maximum number of moves assigned. If not, have a "floater" position, pick up a guy for who is playing the next day or riding the hot hand. That way, you always get more games in than your opponent, thus racking up more points. If you have a MAX MOVES assigned, it is all for not. That scenario I would definitely keep Jokinen and Richards and choose between Koivu and Antropov-neither are great choices but atleast Antropov is hot right now.

Don't drop Olli Jokinen. The last two years he has started slow, he will pick it up again. If you are set on adding Antropov, then Richards would be the one to cut loose.

I assume you mean Mike Richards from the Flyers. If so, do not drop him. This kid is going to have a stand out year. Keep him, you'll see how good he'll do for you.

With Antropov, think short term. He's going to crumble soon. I think someone told him that if he doesn't improve, they're going to trade him to some Chinese toy factory for some 8-year-old named Meng who can skate better than he can (anybody can skate better than Antropov). Out of those three, get rid of the one who's producing the least.

I would keep your guys and stay away from Antropov. He may be hot right now, but it won't last.
