Immigration from what point in time? The Romans? The Saxons? The Vikings? The Afro-Carribeans brought in during the 50-60s? The South Asians in the 60s-80s?
Grow up - immigration is part of life in a global economy. Go an live in a hamlet in the middle of nowhere and chances are, you yourself would be an immigrant into that part of the world.
Hang on, you're probably a descendent from people who immigrated to the British Isles at one point or another.

its been said by other people as responses to this question. but we are all immigrants, we've just been here longer than other people!
how far back do you count immigration - the recten influx of Easter Europeans, The Africans, Chinese, the Vikings, the Romans, please state how far back you wish to go before asking what they brought!
Also Im totaly with 'Eastern European' the royal family are immigrants!!!! shall we send them back where they came from!! - actually maybe not such a bad idea!

All those people who do the the unpleasant, low-paid and dirty jobs that the native English have become too spoiled, fat and lazy to do themselves !!!
Anyway, Britain has been a nation of immigrants for several thousand years, so what's so different nowadays ?

people, job skills,enlightenment,terrorism,workers,money,--the point is the uk was born on a mishmash of traders from all over the world.the backbone of the uk is strong and tolerence is a big plus, however i am the 1st to say that if the immigrants dont or wont to the line then fling em back into the sea.

All of us.
The English arrived about 1500 years ago although very few of us can go back more that 3 generations without finding an ancestor born outside of the UK. The Celts have been here for about 7,500 years. If you can prove your uncontaminated ancestry back to the beaker folk - Stonehenge is yours, and you've let it go a bit.

Roads, law and order (the Romans)
The notion of a ruling elite (the Normans)
Democracy, music, culture, the arts and scientific advancement (everyone since).
And Bob, it's 'brought' (past tense of to bring) not 'bought' (past tense of to buy). Apologies if your lack of good English is down to the fact that you are a recent immigrant.
