The Dreamcast. It was way ahead of its time.
It was the first console, to feature online play. Therefore it came with a 56k modem (or 33k modem in Europe) right in the box.
You could surf the internet and play online games against others.
It had better graphics than the PS2 and even came to market before the PS2. It had spectacular and innovative games.
Unfortunately, the Marketing at Sega was crap and the Dreamcast died shortly afterwards.
However, a lot of ideas in the Dreamcast ported over to the Xbox and Xbox 360 (Peter Moore was also responsible for the development of the Dreamcast and later was responsible for the Xbox brand at Microsoft).

That became into because of the crashing industry however. the present structures are all more advantageous from the NES. Sega, Sony, and Microsoft all jumped onto the bandwagon.

I am a big xbox fan but I have to say Playstation 1 games revolutionised the video game industry with amzing games, graphics and playability. Sure we have more powerful consoles now but back then it was a major achievment by Sony.

Nintendo 64 that was a console way ahead of its time with great titles like Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Mario Kart and Zelda Ocarina of Time giving gamers the all around balance that was needed with a good console like shoot-em-ups, action adventue and racing......what more cud you ask for??......

you can hack it to allow u to play all the old systems in one :sega , snes , nintendo , n64, and i even think there is one for nds comming out , the psp capabilities are limitless
