Love your work Steve C.. Go Kendo Nagasaki
My favourite match of all time was Terry Funk v Ric Flair the I quit match in 1989. It was a legendary feud that culminated in one of the best I Quit matches of all time.

I have 2, I can't decide between them.
The first one was between HHH and Stone Cold Steve Austin at No Way Out in 2002. It was actually a 2 out of 3 falls match. I think it was a regular match, a street fight, then a cage match. The buildup for that match was amazing, it was when Stone Cold had found out that HHH was the one who had Rikishi run him over, knocking him out for a year. And the weeks leading up to that match were some of the most intense I have ever seen. It got so bad that they weren't allowed to physically provoke the other or the match would be canceled. And then the match actually lived up to the hype, with the 3 falls last right at an hour. I was rooting for Stone Cold and HHH won the 2 out of 3, falling on top of Austin in exhaustion in the final fall to win the match.
The second one I would have to choose is the Wrestlemania match 2 or 3 years ago between Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels. Kurt Angle may be the greatest professional wrestler ever, while no one knows how to have a dramatic match like HBK. I think this was the year that Cena beat HHH in the main event, but the match between Angle and Michaels stole the show in my opinion. Great back and forth action the whole match, neither wrestler having an advantage til the end, when HBK fought long and hard trying not to submit to Angle's ankle lock, but he just didn't quite have enough.
These were the all time greatest matches that I've ever seen because they both had huge hype and they not only lived up to it but far exceeded it. You had no idea who could win, the story went so how either competitor could win, and in both matches, the action was very even. When wanting to see a great match, that's all you can ask for.

Very good question. I'm 33 and have been a wrestling fan for over 20 years. The best match I have ever seen live was during the King of Independants tournament in Vallejo California in 2001. It was the final match of the night- American Dragon vs. Lo-Ki(Now Sensai). It was just awsome. Actuelly, the whole tournament was awsome but this match was the best of them all.

My favourite wrestling match of all time has to be The Ultimate Warrior v Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania VI - in the Champion v Champion match!
It might not have had any of the high flying moves we see nowadays from Mysterio, Hardy etc....but it was "electrifying!"
More recently I think it has to be the tables, ladders and chairs tag team match - Edge/Christian v The Dudley Boys v The Hardy Boys at Wrestlemania 1? - great match!

NJPW - 10-20-1996 - Great Muta vs. Jushin Thunder Liger.
I will always choose NJPW over the WWE or any other promotion. The matches are better and the fans are better.
This match is without question one of the all time greatest matches of all times also the match between Great Muta vs. Hakushi

I'm right with you...I've been watching for 30+ years. My favorite match was at the 2nd annual Ilio DiPaolo Tribute show in Buffalo, NY, put on by WCW. The match was between Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio. One particular spot still stands out in my mind. Malenko irish-whipped Mysterio into the corner and starting walking towards him. Mysterio rushed out of the corner and they met in the center of the ring. Mysterio jumped up and Malenko "threw" him up over his head. Mysterio landed on the opposite turnbuckle (from the center of the ring) and immediately executed a moonsault onto Malenko as he turned around. They had to have practiced that spot for days, as it was an amazing display of perfect timing and execution I have ever seen.
