I once spoke to someone with a long history of petty theft, trying to understand where he came from. He had a simple philosophy - You have something, I don't, therefore I am justified in taking it. He genuinely believed that, and had no trace of guilt at all. He didn't even think about hardship or misery his action might cause, he really did seem to think that everyone was better off than him, so it was okay for him to take what he wanted. I gave up trying to get through to him!

They are the scum of the earth. Its bad enough that the low lifes can do it to anyone but to snatch a bag of an old lady is sick. Do they not have a heart? They are probably druggies looking for money for their next fix.

Children are not taught to respect the property of others. Parents are afraid to discipline them. Simple moral codes, like the ten commandments have been considered outdated by our society.
The attitude of do what you feel like and forget about who you hurt, is bringing up a generation without a sense of right and wrong.Leave God out of society, and society will pay the price. I hope they get caught for stealing your bag.

I agree....even if they were caught they would only be given a warning.."Don't do it again or else.....or else you'll get another warning...then a caution."
Even if they were jailed, they'd only serve half their sentence...and that would be in a place with holiday camp facilities...TV, pool table, state of the art gymnasium.
It's worth chancing your arm...the chances of getting caught are low, the chances of getting sent down are miniscule, the chances of being punished are zero.
Carol L...you are spot on.

I know what you mean, my daughter was getting on a train on Sunday night, when her bag emptied everywhere, luckily her phone and purse were in her pocket, but someone nicked her book that she was reading.
