I guess the best way to explain how truly great he was and the pain and the sorrow I am feeling and the tears that don't stop falling, is to leave you with my post, written on my blog couple of hours after the tragic event:
Today, October 16, 2007 the Balkan Countries are in Grief, Our Tose Proeski is Gone Forever
Today, Macedonia and the whole Balkan lost a hero: The most accomplished young Macedonian singer died at 6.30 this morning in a car accident im Croatia. He was only 26.
I can not find the words to explain the grief I feel. He was not only one of the best signers of our time but he was also an extremely honorable and dedicated to help the ones in need. He was a UN Good Will Ambassador, gave a lot of his income to charity, he cared for the disabled and raised a lot of funds to help their situation in Macedonia, built churches, treated his family with out most respect, as well as anyone who has crossed his path. He was a great believer in the goodness of people and a true Christian. His goal in life was to use his fame and earnings to give back to the ones in need.
Last ten years of his life were spent building a sky rocketing career and on tours all the time. Just in the last two months he managed to hold concerts in Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Australia.
We were so proud of him, no one since Leb i Sol has been able to succeed and accomplish so much among the entertainers and artists in Macedonia. I actually doubt whether Leb i Sol have ever accomplished so much. Macedonia was robed to today from one of hers most valuable treasures. This will be marked as one of the worst days in Macedonia's modern history, he was not only a singer but a true ambassador of a country that needs that so much.
I met him in August of 2006 at the Split airport in Croatia, where he had just given a concert the night before and was flying to London to work on his English album. The sky was the limit for him. He heard me talking in Macedonian and came up to me to say hi and he was as nice and pleasant as always. Which international star does that!
This is the hardest text I have ever needed to write, I feel like I have lost a close family member, mind you, I was not even one of his great fans, however I always have had an enormous respect for him.
It is tough to write this with tears falling down my face, so I will stop now and leave you with few pictures of the handsome fallen hero.

What you read was written right after the news of his death was spread. Let me try and grasp what is happening now in Macedonia and in the Balkans.
Thousands of people have been gathering on their town squares to pay their respect. Everyone is in so much pain and grief. Kids and students didnt go to school for two day or left really quickly because they couldnt bare to actually follow classes emotionally. I feel like I am in the UK and it is the day of the tragic death of Lady D (Tose was so much like her in his humanitarian traits, a sportless record).
10.000 people showed up at his state funeral.
Everyone was there from the president to all celebrities in Macedonia and a few from the Balkans.
Blogs are flodded with condolances and thoughts that go out to him and his family and just expressions of grief. All international media picked up the story.
This morning going to work, everyone I saw looked devistated, crying, the greaf can be felt in the air.
This is the first time Ex-Yugolavia has been reunited in mourning since 1980, when Tito died. Tose Proeski reunited us, made every single one of us a better person. He was a true example of a God sent man, an example of how all of us should live. He was so much more than an amazing singer, if these were old times he would surely be given a title of a Saint.
I lost a brother, Macedonia lost a national treasure.

Se nadevam deka bolka ne e edinstvenoto nesto sto
vi ostana od nego.Covekot dojde so misija ja ostvari i si zamina.Toa e sudbina.Zamina na 26 a site nie ovde koj znae koga,moze utre moze i za minuta, no znam edno: i da bide posle 100 godini pak nema da uspeam da go napravam ona sto toj go napravi za 26.Se nadevam deka deka nasite deca ke bidat barem pola od toa sto bese toj, za toa mozes samo da se nadevas bidejki toa e toa - ili go imas ili ne.Gospod dava i gospod zema! Pocivaj vo mir golem coveku!!!

I don't like to believe that the bigest human is gone.
He is an angel with beautiful voice.
He was a UNICEF goodwill ambassador and toured the Balkans to promote humanitarian projects!Before 2 weeks on his greatest concert in Skopje-Macedonia he received humanitarian award from Mother Teresa association.
Now he is not here with us.We have very big pain for him.
Tose you will be always in our hearts!!!We love you!!!

Ne znam dali bese pogolem pejac ili pogolem humanist.
Nepravedno e mlad kvaliteten covek da bide ottrgnat od sudbinata na pocetok na zivotot. Golema e zagubata za site.

Yes, I've heard about it...but accidents happen...it's so sad...but we will all remember him as a great man and artist. Tose has done so much for Macedonia, and although I don't come from there(but I'm your close neighbor), I am proud of him. Rest in peace.

hi everyone...not only macedonia and serbia ar mourning for the loss of Tose...Bosnia and Herzegovina is mourning as well. Pored toga sto je od svih idealizovan kao velika zvijezda, ukoliko mu oduzmemo tu pop krunu sa glave i dalje je (bio) jedan od velikih ljudi koje je tako tesko naci u danasnjem vremenu. Mada mi pretjerano zvuci sto ga zovu andjelom imao je nesto andjeosko, nesto nerealno u sebi. Takav mi se uvijek i cinio, i davno prije ove tragedije. Ovakva smrt ljude ucini legendama...ali za mene on je bio legenda vec i mnogo ranije. On jeste umro...ali i dalje zivi kroz svoje pjesme i mnoga dobra djela....TOSE, tesko nam je sto te vise nema...ako nista bar znaj da si bio uzor mnogima, i da si mnoge ljude podstakao na dobro i posteno djelovanje...uspio si sa onim sto si htio!!

I was sorry to hear the news. It's always sad when a young life is lost, but more so when a truly talented singer and a great person leaves us. And Toše was both. He will be missed by all of us.

OMG our dear Tose is gone,he's singing with angels now,i just cant believe i'm not going to see and hear him ever again.But that was his destiny and somehow we have to deal with that and save beautiful memory of him...
